âWoo hoo, autumn is here! Well, I feel it's been here since mid August, but now it's in full swing. Most trees are changing colours, it's getting colder. We fired up our fireplace to heat up, cozy clothes are out and of course I'm making few cards with the autumnal theme.
Today I'm making a very easy, quick card using Distress inks and a stencil and I'm creating a simple blending combination. I placed the stencil over the card stock. I'm using the Bristol card stock from Canson. And I also secured the stencil with washi, so it doesn't move. The stencil is from Altenew and is called Leaf Burst.
Next I took out the Distress inks and a blending tool. The Distress inks I used are:
- Mustard Seed - Barn Door - Dusty Concord The blending tool is a make up brush I bought in something like Dollar store or Poundland. I need to buy more, because I only have one and I have to properly clean it before I use next ink, which is sometimes annoying. Sometimes? All the time! I never thought I will like it that much. I was happy using the blending tools from Ranger, but now after using this tool, I don't think I get a good blend using the Ranger blending tools. It also depends on the paper, which tool I use. There are few blends you can do here. I already used this stencil before on the card HERE and I used the typical autumnal colours and I applied the colours in multiple places. Here I covered quarter of the stencil and moved to the next colour. I wanted the yellow (Mustard Seed) to be on the left and right side of the stencil, as I knew I'm going to be stamping the sentiment in black and I was hoping this way you see it better. The red (Barn Door) I applied next and then the purple (Dusty Concord).
After I was happy with the blending, I let it dry and then I stamped the sentiment using the Versafine ink in Onyx black. I chose a Thank You sentiment from a stamp set from Clearly Besotted. You can see the sentiment perfectly in person, but I was hoping for it to be more visible, but for that I would need to apply more of the yellow. Another option would be to use a die-cut, which I currently don't have.
Lastly I adhered the panel on top of a white card base, which finishes the card. You can see a quick video of me making this card on my YouTube channel or Instagram and make sure you subscribe/follow and give the video a like. QUICK TUTORIAL
