Peaking Guinea Pig Colouring With Zig Brush Markers | FUN MASCULINE CARD FOR FATHER'S DAY + VIDEO20/5/2022 Father's day is slowly approaching in Germany sooner than in other countries. Actually in Sweden where I live it's in November, but I have family in Germany, that's why I'm starting now. For all my Father's day cards I will be using stamps, I would have liked to make cards without any stamps, e.g. painting with watercolours, however I'm stuck on ideas. Therefore, if you have any tips or wishes, not just for Father's day, what I could paint, let me know in the comments. Today I'm using a stamp set with Guinea Pigs from Gerda Steiner Designs. This stamp set contains four different images with guinea pigs (one is a pair) and I used three of them before. All of them I made for my husband, so if you need inspirations for a card for Father's day or a Birthday or other occasion for the man in your life. Here are all the cards with the guinea pigs: Guinea Pig Holding Heard Coloured With Watercolour Pencils Creating A Wreath Using Small Stamps Romantic Card With Two Guinea Pigs For each of these card I used different colouring medium and for today's card I used the Zig Brush Markers and used them as watercolours. The card stock is the Canson Bristol and I stamped with the Versafine ink in Onyx black. And I will be using a different stamp set for the greeting, but that is something you can change, depending on the occasion. Actually, if you do not have any of these products, try looking through your stash and see if you find something similar. The idea behind this card is an image (the guinea pig in this case) peaking from stack of small images (in this case salad leaves). To make this card I started stamping the guinea pig, the salad leaves and the tomato. Next I coloured each image. For the guinea pig I used the colour Brown and here I was making sure to stay inside of the lines. I applied it along the edges of the stamped image and using my water pen I spread the colour across the whole image. I wasn't careful and also covered the teeth, but with a white gel I was able to correct it. The little hands of the guinea pig I coloured with the maker Natural Beige. To colour the leaves I used random greens in the pack of the Zig Brush Markers I have and for the tomato I used the colour Carmine Red. Here I also went outside of the lines as they are small images and it didn't matter as I was going to cut them out. I'm not sure if this stamp set has coordinating dies, but I just used my scissors to cut them out and then I worked on the background. I was actually stuck on what to do with the background. This would have been a great shaker card, but when I made this card originally I didn't have my die-cutting machine. Therefore I went very simple and drew a circle using a cup and pencil and then using the marker Blue Grey I coloured the circle. I only put it along the edges in the top half and then I spread it using my water pen. After it was dry I added a few white dots across the top part using my white gel pen to represent the stars. Next I adhered the stamped images. I started with the guinea pig that I attached at the bottom of the circle, right in the middle using a double-sided foam tape. And then I adhered the salad leaves and one tomato. I adhered two layers, the first layer I attached using a liquid glue and I adhered it directly onto the guinea pig. And then for the second layer I used tiny pieces of double-sided foam tape and glue. After this I stamped the greeting. Here I used a Happy Birthday sentiment from a stamp set by Clearly Besotted. However, if you are making a Father's day card, you can use a greeting for that, or from this stamp set I would have used "Just For You", which I actually used for Mother's day card I made this year. As a little detail, I added a dash line using a black fine liner along the edges of the panel, just to bring it all together. Lastly I adhered the panel on top of a white card base using a simple double-sided tape. I hope you will try making this card yourself.
