I have another Distress ink combination for you. I really enjoy making these! This time I mixed purples and reds, I love this colour combination. It's actually based on clothes I saw some celebrity wearing.
The Distress inks I used are: - Fired Brick - Barn Door - Abandoned Coral - Wilted Violet As always I blended all those colours using a blending tool. The card stock I like to use for Distress ink blending, is any type of a smooth watercolour card stock. The best is a hot press watercolour paper, however I do not have any and in this case I used the Canson XL watercolour paper, which despite of being a cold press card stock, is quite smooth.
I started blending from top to bottom, first I used the reds and then the purple. After I was happy with the application, I sprinkled water across the panel to reactivate the inks. Then I took a paper towel to soak up the water, which lifted up the ink and created a very cool effect.
Once the panel was dry, I stamped a flower using the Versamark ink and heat embossed it with a white embossing powder. The flower is from an older stamp set by Clearly Besotted, called Fresh Flowers. Just like in my last Distress Ink Combinations video, I filled the flower with the inks I used for the background, plus Pine Needles, which is a green ink, for the leafs and the stem. I adhered the panel on top of a card base that I pre-made out of craft card stock and lastly I used clear Nuvo Crystal Drops and added few drops here and there.
