Recently I saw on Instagram a sunset painting with a simple silhouette of a flower and it was made in a form of a Polaroid picture. I thought it was a great idea, but instead of painting with watercolours I decided to create a new Distress ink blending combination. The inks I used are:
The card stock is the Canson XL watercolour paper and for the blending I used a blending tool, which is actually a make up brush. First I die-cut the card stock using a stitched-rectangular die from Create A Smile. I used the second biggest die as I wanted the size to be like a Polaroid picture. If you don't have dies, you can use a paper trimmer and cut the card stock that way. Next I taped my panel onto a board using washi. With the washi I created a frame that is slightly longer than wider. To avoid any accidents of me going over the bottom part with the Distress inks, I covered the whole bottom with the washi. I started blending and I went in the order as I wrote above. Blue, purple and pink. I applied the inks in multiple layers, blending them together. I wanted the colours to be on the softer side so I tried not to get too much ink on the blending brush and I did't press too hard as I was blending. After I was done, I stamped a single flower over the background, using a black ink. The flower is from an old stamp set by Clearly Besotted and so is the greeting that I stamp below the background. Lastly I adhered the panel on top of a grey card base using a double-sided foam tape. I hope you will try making this card yourself.
