Finally I reached my last Christmas card for this year and after playing with a few ideas, I decided to do a very simple Distress ink blending combo and die-cut a few snowflakes to create a wintery scene. I began with creating the background. First I secured my card stock using a washi tape and then I started ink blending. I picked blue, purple and pink inks. The exact inks I used are (from top to bottom):
I actually started from the bottom, because I only have one of these brushes that you can see in the video and this way I only had to clean the brush once or twice. Also, originally I picked the Chipped Sapphire ink fro the blue, but it was too light, so I used the Faded Jeans instead. I applied two layers and was blending the inks together until I was happy with the look. At the top I applied a little bit of the Black Soot and I blended it with the dark blue. And towards the bottom I applied the colour very lightly, creating an ombre effect. I must say this is one of my favourite Distress ink blending combinations, it just looks cool. After that I sprinkled a clean water over the background and using a paper towel I soaked it up, which created a snow effect. Next I die cut a few snowflakes using a die from the coordinating dies set that I used for my first Christmas card. There is a die, which die-cuts three snowflakes at once. Then I die-cut the greeting saying Merry Christmas, using a white card stock. And I also die-cut the Distress panel using a stitched rectangular die. I adhered all the die-cuts on top of the background with a liquid glue. Fun fact, I had to re-do the card as I adhered the greeting the wrong way around - yea Christmas Merry everybody! Lastly I adhered the panel on top of a white card base using a simple double-sided tape.
