Another Valentine's Day Card With Stencil Hearts | DISTRESS INK BLENDING COMBINATION #16 + VIDEO25/1/2022 Today's card is sort of a bonus card. Last week I showed you a card with a Distress ink blending combination, with a stencil heart background. This blending combo was red/pink one, this was my original (trial card) colour pick and you can see the card here. I also wanted to use a stamp set with individual letters for the sentiment. So after I made my trial card and was ready to film it, I didn't want to use the same blending combination. The thing is I don't celebrate Valentine's day, therefore I didn't want to have too many same cards lying around. The problem was, the new blending combination was way too dark to stamp the letters, so I ended up using the original colour mix. However, I really love this combination and I filmed the video before I realized I won't be able to use the stamp set. It would have been a pity to throw it away, so in the end I made it into a card by adding a different sentiment. The inks I used for this blending are: - Faded Jeans - Wilted Violet - Seedless Preserves - Picked Raspberry As I said I am using a stencil with a heart background for this blending. My card bases are made out of A4 card stock and this stencil is a little bit too short for an A6 sized card, especially if I want to cover the full background. This is not a problem for this stencil, I just needed to move the stencil before reaching the bottom. I started with the blue ink (Faded Jeans) and applied the inks diagonally. After I was done with blending the inks, I worked on the greeting. I used an older stamp that says "Be My Valentine" and I heat embossed it in white on a black card stock. I adhered the sentiment in the middle of the panel using a double-sided foam tape and lastly I glued a few sequins around the banner with the greeting. I adhered the panel on top of a white card base and the card is done! You can see a quick video of me making this card on my YouTube channel or Instagram and make sure you subscribe/follow.
