Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Well... not yet, but it's time to start making some cards. I'm starting with a simple heart background using a stencil and creating another Distress ink blending combination. I wanted to use the Sophisticated Script alphabet stamp set by Concord & 9th and stamp the greeting Happy Valentine's Day with a black ink. This influenced the colours I used for the hearts as I wanted the letters to be visible. The colours I used are: - Festive Berries - Abandoned Coral - Worn Lipstick - Spun Sugar As I said I am using a stencil with a heart background for this blending. I'm not sure if this stencil is still available, I think it's from MFT, but you can use any stencil you want to. I just didn't want to buy a new one, only for the purpose having a new stencil. I placed the stencil on top of an A6 panel, secured it with a washi tape so it doesn't move and started blending. I started with the darkest ink (Festive Berries) and finished with the lightest ink (Spun Sugar). I applied each ink diagonally, I also had to move the stencil once as it did not cover the full A6 background. After I was finished applying the inks, I stamped the sentiment. As I said I didn't use a one big sentiment stamp, but stamps with individual letters. They are very easy to align and to stamp them I used an acrylic blocks. I adhered the panel on top of a white card base and lastly I glued a few clear sequins to add little bit of sparkle to the card.
