I wanted to create a quick and simple card, not only because I was making another Shorts/Reels video but it's somer and I don't think this is a time that you want to spend hours at home crafting. The weather is just too beautiful to be stuck at home! If anything you want crafts that you can at least take with you. While I made this card inside, this for sure you can make outside, because all you need is watercolour supplies. Watercolour card stock, a brush and watercolours. I used a stamp for the greeting, but that's optional and you can do that later. I attached my card stock to a board using a washi. This is optional, the amount of water needed for this painting is minimal, it will not cause warping. First I painted a line and for this I used a long bristle brush, which I like to use for lines like this, but you can also use the tip of a round brush. I dipped my brush in the paint and I mixed blue, green and black together and painted a slightly curved line. Then I took a size 4 round brush and painted the leaves. Actually originally I wanted to use an angled brush, but I only could paint the leaves on the right side of the branch, but not on the left. I need more practice. I picked smaller brush, because it felt easier to handle. I recently noticed some watercolour artists using smaller brushes and I thought it's a great idea. I tested a few brushes and this one felt the best. I wanted the leaves to be slightly longer, compared to those I pained in the past, which were more in the shape of a rain drop. I used the colours Turquoise and Viridian Hue, for some leaves I mixed them together and for some I used them separately. And then while the leave was still wet I dropped in a little bit of black or purple. IMPORTANT: If you watch the video, you will see that I did not move the card stock. This was only because I was filming. I think it's much better for the viewer. However, on my trial piece, I was moving my card stock depending on the direction of the stroke and what felt more comfortable. So, don't think you are doing something wrong, just because you see something else in a video. Also don't forget to keep a little bit of space for your greeting, if you are going to include one. Also don't forget to keep a little bit of space for your greeting, if you are going to include one. I let the painting dry and then I added splatter using the colours I used for the leaves and some gold. The gold I used on the edges of the panel to create a golden border. Next I stamped a greeting saying Best Wishes. I adhered the panel on top of a card base made out of a craft card stock and the card is done!
