Even though I have been painting for a while, I'm still a beginner (maybe advanced beginner). When I paint, it is often something very simple and the most easiest to paint for me are mountains. All you need to paint is the sky and wavy lines to make the hills. I painted a few landscapes before and you can check them out here. And I thought for this year's autumnal cards I will make another landscape painting. The products for this card are very minimal. To make the painting you need watercolour supplies and to make the card you will need a blank card and an adhesive. Just use products that you have or are in your budget. I taped my card stock to a board and then I started painting the sky. At the top I used this dark red orange shade, which I followed with orange paint and last colour for the sky was yellow. Pretty much the colours of autumn. The yellow I faded towards the bottom, since I will paint the mountains over it. You want to start fading the sky around the point where the mountains start. After the sky was dry I painted the mountains. I painted them green, but you can use brown, if you want to keep it very autumnal. However, just because it's autumn it doesn't mean everything is no longer green. As I mentioned earlier, the mountains are simple wavy lines. And you start with the lightest shade at the top, with the hill that is in the back and as you paint the additional hills that are in front you intensify the shade. With the bottom hill that is the closest either being the darkest shade of the colour you are using or black. When painting you want to wait until the layer is dry, before you start with the hill below, or rather in front of it. I finished painting and let it dry. You can paint also a few trees, but I kept it simple, with just the hills Once it was dry I stamped the greeting, which is completely optional and then I adhered the panel on top of a card base. The card base I made out of a craft card stock, I just like that look when using watercolours.
