Autumn is here, my favourite season, simply because it never disappoints, at least compared to other seasons. I always look forward when the nature starts changing, colourful leaves, which always inspire me to be creative. And if you are like me and would like to take the advantage of the colourful scenery and include it in your creativity, such as making greeting cards, I put together three autumnal colour combination that you can create with Distress inks or oxydes. Bright And Colourful Autumnal Ink BlendingThis colour combo is one of my favourites as it's so bright and the colours really pop. I used here five inks, but you can easily reduce to just three or even two. The inks I used:
I started with the yellow (Squeezed Lemonade) and finished with the red (Barn Door), blending the colours from top to bottom in more diagonal direction. Once I was done I splattered a little bit of water over the background and soaked it up with a paper towel. After you finish your background, you can just add a greeting or some die-cut foliage. I had a big sunflower stamp, which actually inspired the colours, especially the yellow. And I stamped it and heat embossed it using a white embossing powder. Clean And Simple Autumnal Card Using Neutral ColoursThis is another colour combo where you can reduce the number of inks to just two, if you do not have them all. The inks I used :
I started with the brown (Ground Espresso) and from top to bottom I blended the other inks, from the darkest to the lightest. To finish up the card I used a bigger greeting and heat embossed it with a golden embossing powder. Galaxy-Like Autumnal Ink BlendingThe last colour combo was a sort of an experiment. I wondered if I can blend the colours like you would when creating a galaxy, but instead of using purples, pinks, blues and black, I use autumnal colours and instead of black I use brown. The inks I used:
I first randomly applied the colourful inks over the card stock and then I took the brown and blended that in between. Then I added a little bit of splatter, big greeting that I heat embossed in gold, a few embellishments and the card is done. I hope you feel inspired by these tree examples and if you would like to see more ideas for cards not only for autumn, check out the full Gallery, with all of my handmade cards. PIN MEDid you like the card? I would love, if you pinned it to your board on Pinterest!
