In the video and blog post about Digital Stamps, which you can find here, I showed you some places where you can get digital stamps. One of the places was Etsy. I knew you can get digital stamps on Etsy before I decided to make a video, but last time I checked, I didn't find anything I rally liked. This time however, there was much more. So I went back and purchased two stamp sets with flowers and I will be colouring all of them. The stamp set I'm using here is the "Flowers Line Art Designs Bundle" from DreamflareStudios it contains twenty images and one of them is a very beautiful image of daffodils and that's what I chose to colour first, since there should be spring outside. At least according to the calendar. NOTE: I don't work with any brand. All the products I used to make this card I purchased with my own money. However if you would like to get this stamp set you can find it on Etsy, just click here. I started by printing the image onto the Canson XL watercolour card stock. I used two sizes one A5 and the other A6. The bigger size I will be framing and the smaller size I used for a card. When printing, I used the Heavyweight paper setting and I also run it through my laminator to set the printer ink. I'm using a laser printer and it kept smudging a bit. Running it through the laminator seems to set it. I painted the flowers and leaves using watercolours. A have a small set from Winsor & Newton the Cotman series. For the flowers I used the Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow and Yellow Ochre. And for the leaves I used different shades of green in the set plus Hookers Green. As always I kept it simple I started with a light base layer (only on the flowers), I applied the Lemon Yellow that I watered down. You can skip it if you want. After the piece was dry I applied more saturated paint. For the middle I used the Yellow Ochre and Cadmium Yellow. And for the outer petals I used Lemon Yellow and the Cadmium Yellow. The darker shade I used for the bottom of the petals and places where I thought shade would be, like overlapping petals, but I try not to overthink it. The lighter shade I use towards the top of the petal. Normally I would do this on the leaves, but here I just switched between different shades of green. You can do more detailed colouring, but I just like to keep it simple. Once I finished painting I let it dry. The bigger piece I will be framing and the smaller piece I used for a card. Originally I was going to make a Mother's day card, I think this image is perfect for that, but I needed a Birthday card, so I used a Happy Birthday sentiment. I stamped and heat embossed it in white on top of a black card stock and I also fussy cut it. I adhered the greeting on top of the card, below the flowers using a foam tape. I hope liked this card and will try making this card yourself. Make sure you check out my video on YouTube and give it a Like as well.
