Digital Stamp With Autumnal Wreath & Colouring With The Zig Brush Markers | FREE PRINTABLE + VIDEO15/10/2022 I love wreaths, I painted a few of them here on my blog, but all of them I painted free hand with watercolours. Even last year I made an autumnal card with a watercolour wreath. I wanted to make another card with a wreath, but I didn't want to do the same again. So I decided to create a digital stamp with pumpkins, mushrooms, some leaves and berries. I drew a sketch, made it digital and printed it out. After that I had a stamped-like image I can colour. And of course you can download it for free, just click here. For the colouring I used the Zig Brush Markers they are water-based markers that can be used as watercolours, but for this card I used them just as markers. I have the set with 24 markers, plus I bought extra Deep Red. However, there are other brands that carry such markers, just use what you already have or is in your budget. To colour most of the images I only used two markers, one darker and the other lighter and the lighter one I also used for blending or spreading out the the darker colour. Only for the pumpkins I used three different shades. I used red/red brown, oranges and yellow. I started with the colouring of the pumpkin, I coloured the middle (front) part first. I used the darkest shade in the middle and then on each side I used orange and blended it out with yellow. The other sections on each side of the pumpkin, I put the dark shade on the inside and with the lighter shades I blended it outwards. The red mushrooms I coloured with deep and regular red and the third mushroom I coloured brown. The stems I coloured with mixture of light beige and light grey and I blended it out with a water-brush. When I was drawing this wreath, I added grass or moss below the mushrooms as it needed some ground. I coloured it using different shades of green. Lastly I coloured the leaves and the berries. I used different shades of brown, reds and greens for the lower part of the leaf and mostly I blended it out with either yellow, lighter brown or green. For the berries I used a little bit of brown and red. BE AWARE: Since the Zig Brush Markers are water-based markers they stay wet for a while. After you finish working on one area, make sure you dry it first before moving on. I had to re-do this colouring three or four times, I just did not wait for it to dry and messed it up. The worse was that it happened at the end, when I was colouring the berries. Also I was finding random smudges on the card stock, no idea how they got there, but those I was able to lift up by using clean water, a brush and a paper towel. I think this happened because I originally thought I will use pencils for the colouring, but decided not to as it takes a long time. Anyways. After I was finished colouring the leaves I came back to the mushrooms and added the white dots on top of the red mushrooms. I wanted to use a white gel pen, but it was picking up the paint, so I squeezed out some gouache (you can also use acrylic paint) and I used the white gel pen as a tool to apply the dots. Then I used a paper towel to clean the pen. Next I stamped a greeting. It says Best Wishes and it's form a stamp set by Clearly Besotted. If you don't have stamps you can add a greeting before you print. To finish up the card I adhered the panel on top of a card base that I made out of a light grey card stock. I also coloured the wreath doing the no-line colouring. I didn't film it as it was a little tedious, meaning it took longer to colour. I had fun colouring it, but I don't think it would be interesting for a video. However, you can see the finished colouring above. I hope you will try making this card yourself.
