Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! While I do not celebrate it, I like to make a card with a lucky clover, if I have a good fun idea. Today's card was inspired by a technique I did in one of my Christmas blog posts, you can see the blog post here. I knew I had an embossing folder with lucky clovers and I thought I will do the technique where I applied watercolours in the pattern wells of the embossing folder. Before I begin, please note that this technique might stain your embossing folder. It depends on the paint you use. I started applying the paint into the wells. I needed to add quite a lot of water into my paint pan, but this depends on the paint you are using. I didn't need to put too much paint into the wells, but it was easier to load my brush, when the paint was watery enough. I dipped a damp brush into the paint and I just dubbed the brush into the wells. Since the embossing folder is made out of plastic, the paint will create beads, it will group together instead of spreading around. This is something you might get in watercolour pallets that have plastic cases and it is absolutely normal. After I applied the paint into all the wells, using a spray bottle, I sprayed clear water over the embossing folder. I put a watercolour panel into the folder, closed it and placed into my die-cutting machine and run it trough. I removed the panel from the embossing folder and placed it onto my desk. I sprayed it again with water and with my brush I helped the paint and the water to move around. Next after the panel was a little bit dry, I used a glitter pen and I went with it over the full clovers and applied a little bit of glitter just for fun. I let the piece dry and then I took the green I used for the background as well as a gold paint and I added a little bit of splatter across the panel. Actually my panel wasn't fully dry and the gold paint mixed with the wet part and spread around. I let the panel completely dry afterwards, but I really like that effect that was created. Once the panel was fully dry, I adhered it onto a card base that I made out of a craft card stock and then in the middle of the panel I attached a banner with a greeting saying Good Luck, using a double sided foam tape. The greeting I heat embossed in white onto a black card stock and cut it into a banner.
