St. Patrick's day is on Thursday, so I thought it will be fun to make a card, where i paint a lucky clover using watercolours. The card is very simple, perfect for beginners. The products are very minimal, all you need is watercolours, more specifically green, watercolour card stock and brushes. To make the card you also need a card base and adhesive. If you have you can also add a greeting by using stamps or writing it with a black fine liner. As I said, painting of the clover is very simple. The "lucky" clover consists of four leaves in a shape of heart. To paint the leaf I started with a line to make sure it is not too long and then I painted the outlines, just like painting a heart and then I filled it up with the colour. I repeated it four times, turning the card stock to make it easier to paint. The brush I used is size 8 round brush, this one has very pointy tip. Next I painted the stem of the clover. I took my long bristle brush and painted a line with two curves. If you do not have this brush, you can use the round brush and carefully, with a steady hand draw the line. After that I added some splatter. I dipped a damp brush in the paint and by tapping my finger on the brush I created the splatter. The size of the splatter, depends on the size of the brush you use. I also painted the edges of the watercolour panel using a golden paint, which is completely optional. I just like that effect. Another optional thing is to add the greeting. I used a sentiment stamp that says "Good Luck", which makes the card more versatile, not just for St. Patrick's day. I adhered the panel on top of a card base that I made out of craft card stock and lastly I decided to add some embellishments. I used clear drops and adhered a few of them on top of the panel.
