In my previous blog post I painted a background with multiple sunflowers, but this wasn’t my original idea. My initial idea was today's card. I was inspired by these stamps with big flowers and I also wanted to use my gouache paints that I bought few months ago. And because gouache is an opaque medium, I thought using a black card stock was an idea worth trying.
If you don’t have a black card stock, you can use normal, white watercolour card stock. I think that would look good as well. I will be referencing my first card with the sunflowers a lot, therefore I would recommend to check the card out, just click here. Since gouache is a water-soluble medium, it is recommended to use a watercolour card stock and you can even get a black watercolour card stock. However, I did not want to buy new supplies and decided to go with what I have at home. The black card stock I have is not meant to be used with water, but I used it in the past, where I used my golden watercolours and I did not have any problems. The trick is not to use too much water. In fact, my plan was not to use water at all, but I only did that with the yellow and it didn’t work well, so I had to mix it with little bit of water. QUICK OVERVIEW OF THE SUPPLIES
