When I was making the card in my previous blog post I made an extra background that I showed in the corresponding video, where I created a sunset blending combination using Distress inks. This gave me an idea to add sunsets and sunrises to my Distress ink blending series as there are so many option. I have no idea if there is any colour difference between sunset and sunrise, that's why I'm putting them into same category as I think some colour combinations could pass for both. Like today's background. Plus if you don't have Distress inks you can use any other inks that blend well or you can even use watercolours. The majority of the background I made blue and the bottom purple or maybe lilac could be a better description. And I left a gap between these colours, which is off-white, beige as I used the Canson XL watercolour card stock. The inks I used are: - Faded Jeans - Salty Ocean - Tumbled Glass - Shaded Lilac - Wilted Violet I started with the Wilted Violet and above it I blended the Shaded Lilac. Then I blended the blues, the Faded Jeans at the top, the Salty Ocean below it and lastly I blended in the Tumbled Glass. Also I had to put two layers of the inks to get a vibrant colour and I blended the colours together to have a smooth transition. As I didn't want to make a background without any image, I decided to paint in some pine trees silhouettes. I took a black watercolour paint and painted bunch of trees across the bottom of the panel. Next I stamped the greeting. I used a stamp that says "congratulations", I used it bunch of times on my previous cards. This is for sure one of my favourite sentiment stamps. I stamped it with the Versafine ink in Onyx black. Lastly I adhered the panel on top of a card base that I made using a craft card stock.
