Last year I made a blog post with a card where I painted ice lollies, which you can see here. These cards were so much fun to make. So as a bonus I made one more video for YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. This time I used pink and orange combination and I think it looks delicious, I would not say no to an ice lolly like this right now. What about you? The products are very minimal, all you need a watercolour card stock, watercolour brushes, watercolour paints. And if you are making a card like me (you do not need to make a card if you don't want to), it's best to use a separate card base. The greeting is optional. I started with creating the shape of the ice lolly - a simple rectangular shape with rounded top - using clean water. Then I dipped my brush into the pink paint and added the paint at the top and bottom. I let the paint combine with the water and spread around. While the paint was still wet, I used the orange paint and first I filled the middle and then with my brush I helped it to combine with the pink. I also added a few drops of pink into the orange part while it was wet. Once the paint was dry I painted in these lines that you can see on ice lollies (not sure what the correct term is). I used the pink paint over the pink part and orange paint over the orange part of the ice lolly. I also added a little bit of pink into the orange stripes. To finish up the ice lolly, I painted the wooden stick at the bottom using a dark yellow paint. Next I added a lot of splatter over the image using not only orange and pink, but also gold paint, which I also used to paint the edges of the watercolour panel to create a nice boarder. Lastly I adhered the panel on top of a card base that I made out of a craft card stock and then I attached a greeting that says "Let's Celebrated". The greeting I stamped on a black card stock, heat embossed in white, cut it out into a banner and adhered it onto the panel using a double-sided foam tape. You can see a quick video of me making this card on my YouTube channel or Instagram and make sure you subscribe/follow.
