On my blog I have so many ideas for Mother's day cards since I really like to make cards with flowers. I picked three inspirations for you (not only with flowers) and if you want to see more, go through the Gallery sections on my blog. Also do not get distracted by the greeting on the card as this is a part that can be adjusted to your needs. Some of the cards I made for other occasions. And if you do not have the same stamps, just use something similar. It is about the design and look of the card, not the products. MASKING, STAMPING & COLOURINGThis card is a little bit more time consuming, but the end result is really stunning. All you need are alone standing flower stamps, actually the two flowers in the middle is one stamp. I first masked off the middle of the panel with a tape. I stamped the middle flowers next and masked them off before stamping the flowers on the side. Then I coloured each flower. I used water-based markers with a water-brush. And lastly I stamped the greeting in the middle. PAINTING A LEAF BACKGROUNDOne of the images I like to paint, when I'm making cards from scratch, i.e. without using any stamps, are leaves as they are quite easy to do. Here I created a background where I painted leaves with watercolours, starting with a light shade, making the shade darker as I was painting the leaves on top, overlapping the leaves below. SIMPLE FLOWER, SIMPLE COLOURING & SIMPLE BACKGROUNDThis card design is very basic. A big flower stamp, colouring and creating a background. I started with the background as I used a brick stencil and embossing paste, which needs some time to dry. Then I stamped the flower and coloured it with alcohol markers. Once the background was dry I adhered it over the flower on top using a foam tape and lastly I adhered a greeting. Here I made a thank you card, by swapping the greeting I think this card would be great for Mother's Day. I hope you feel inspired by these three card examples. They are a mix of using stamps or creating a card completely from scratch, whether you are a beginner or an advanced crafter. And if you would like to see more ideas for cards not only for Mother's day, check out the full Gallery, with all of my handmade cards. PIN MEDid you like the card? I would love, if you pinned it to your board on Pinterest!
